Jan Haas is a 30+ year veteran of technology finance and an active investor and advisor to entrepreneurs. Jan has spent most of his career providing innovative financing solutions to entrepreneurial companies. Under four different investment platforms, including three that he built from scratch, Jan and his teams have deployed almost $1 billion to more than 150 companies.
Before joining BlueIO in 2017, Jan served as the Group Head of NXT's Venture Finance division, where he managed all aspects of the business and helped establish one of the largest pools of capital dedicated to venture finance.
Prior to NXT, Jan co-founded Velocity Financial Group in 2007, a $400 million specialty finance business dedicated to mid-market and venture lending, which he subsequently sold to NXT in 2011 to form the Venture Finance division.
During his time at Velocity, Jan and his team invested in Avnera (acquired by Skyworks), Cadent (acquired by Align Technologies), Folio Dynamics (acquired by Envestnet), Greatcall (acquired by Best Buy), Interwise (acquired by AT&T), Liquidia (IPO: LQDA), nCircle (acquired by Tripwire), Reflexis (acquired by Zebra Tech), Schoolnet (acquired by Pearson), Veracode (acquired by CA), Vormetric (acquired by Thales), as well as two dozen other high-growth private companies.
Jan holds a B.A. from Middlebury College in Math & Computer Science and an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina, where he formed the venture capital club.
